The American Revolution
The foundation of the United States of America is considered one of the most consequential moments in the history of humanity, and the impact that American Independance had on the world was profound. The original Thirteen Colonies found themselves bitterly divided between loyalists to the British Crown, and the revolutionaries who sought “Liberty or Death”, with many caught in the middle being forced to pick sides at bayonets persuasion. Throughout those seven years of war, the fate of the continent, those who lived upon it, and those who migrated to it, would rock the world with their impassioned defiance of what was the premiere superpower of the time. Within this folder, several colonial and revolutionary era paper bills make up the bulk of this collection. Some of these include a 1787 Connecticut Promissory note to a Continental Army Infantry Man, and a Maryland 1774 factional currency note.
